Kirschkau
Kirschkau is a municipality in the Saale-Orla district of Thuringia. It is located in the Thuringian Slate Mountains and belongs to the administrative community Seenplatte.
The federal road 94 leads past the highest point of the village, the Ebersbühl. From this point, there is a wide view of the southwestern Ore Mountains to the east. To the southwest, the Stieglitz and the Kulm as well as the Wetzstein in the Franconian Forest stand out from the horizon. The decoration of the village is the uniquely beautiful baroque church. It was built by Count Henry XII and consecrated in 1753. In 2003 the church became 250 years old.
