Klausenhof - the old inn below Hanstein Castle
Klausenhof - the old inn below Hanstein Castle
In the "Klausenhof" you can enjoy culinary delights in a very special ambience: The historic half-timbered ensemble not only breathes history, it comes alive here! Whether knights' hall, hunter's room, well room - the medieval flair and the homemade herbal cuisine are unique!
The tradition of the building as an inn dates back to the 15th century. With attention to detail, the Röhrig family breathed new life into these walls. At the "Klausenhof" they celebrate honest, homemade cuisine using fresh ingredients, most of which come from the region. The seasonal menu changes monthly. The herbs used come from their own cultivation - the plucked leaves and blossoms are then turned into a herb roast, an aromatic herb lemonade or a spicy herb salt.
A great concern of the family is to contribute to the preservation of Eichsfeld traditions. Therefore, the "Klausenhof" is much more than just an experience restaurant. Even a museum was integrated. It impressively illustrates the customs of the Eichsfeld sausage specialties. The Klausenhof is a partner of the Thuringian table culture. The Klausenhof can also host events for groups outside of opening hours by prior arrangement.
