Koppenstein climbing crag (Moosbachtal)
The Koppenstein near Steinbach-Hallenberg is not only imposing in appearance, it is also home to some of the most magnificent climbs in the Thuringian Forest. The porphyry is very solid and has a great structure. It's unbelievable how creative nature can be. Here you move along holes, handles and ledges. The paths on the valley side are very generous and usually offer homogeneous climbing over 30 meters. The climbs are particularly beautiful Yellow plate 7-, Moosbachweg 7- and Yovol 8. on the south-west side, varied pleasure tours await, such as the exposed Southeast edge 4+ or the Neuhäuser Weg 5+ awaits you. End the climbing day on the summit of the Koppenstein, let the evening sun shine on your face and, weather permitting, enjoy the view far into the foothills of the Rhön.
