The Klingesee was created by gravel extraction in 1973 and is to be expanded from 30 to 50 hectares in the future and used for recreational and leisure purposes.

The water, which is 6 m deep on average, offers shallow sections of shore that are suitable for swimming as well as take-off and landing areas for water sports.

In addition to surfing, boating and fishing facilities, a campsite may also be built here.
