The municipality of Kloster Veßra lies in the beautiful valley of the Schleuse, which flows into the Werra nearby. The landmark of our village are the two monastery towers of the "Hennebergisches Museum Kloster Veßra", which has gained supra-regional importance with over 40,000 visitors a year. On the edge of the "Kleiner Thüringer Wald" landscape conservation area is the district of Neuhof with 155 inhabitants, in a small, charming valley with a wonderful view of the Gleichberge mountains. For 10 years, the Neuhof Fire Brigade Association has been organizing its summer festival on the beautifully situated forest sports field in 1991 with artists known from radio and television.
