Knapp mill
Knapp mill
Marvel at the unique Gallery holland windmill, which houses a unique sack museum in the Knapp mill in Linda near Neustadt an der Orla, and spend some convivial hours in the mill.
On a tour through the five storeys of the Galerieholländer windmill, you can admire perfectly preserved mill technology dating back to 1867. When there is no wind, you can try out whether you can set the windmill in motion with your own muscle power. To make sure you remember this entertaining excursion for a long time, you can take a bag of the mill's own lucky flour home with you when you leave.
Since the 1st German Mill Day in 1992, the Knapp Mill has been taking part and opening its doors to the public. In addition to the guided tours in the mill, there is always a colorful hustle and bustle on the mill grounds with music and a number of stands that allow visitors to enjoy the technical monument from the outside.
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Mühlenkunde und Mühlenerhaltung (DGM) e.V. organizes this day every year for the whole of Germany.
Interested mill guests should ring the bell directly at the mill. If Ms. Knapp is not available, you can make an appointment by telephone or directly via the intercom at the gate.
Events and overnight stays can also be arranged by telephone or e-mail.
