Charcoal burning and medieval village Meusebach - Dieter Schulze
Charcoal burning and medieval village Meusebach - Dieter Schulze
The old tradition of charcoal production can be seen in the charcoal burning plant, which is now a technical monument. Demonstrations followed by a charcoal-burning feast are held from May to September for registered groups. A medieval fortified village has been built around the charcoal burner's workshop - true to the tradition of the old Meusebach, which was burnt down in the 30-year war. The village can be rented by groups for an adventurous and exciting stay.
