Meuselwitz coal railroad
Meuselwitz coal railroad
Today, the coal railroad operates as a museum railroad with the rare gauge of 900 mm on the approx. 15 km long line between Meuselwitz and Regis-Breitingen.
For the most part, a former mining route that used to transport raw coal to the power plants and briquette factories is used.
The ride starts at the Kulturbahnhof Meuselwitz and leads through the beautiful Schnaudertal and the Kammerforst. After a stop in the western town of Haselbach, the state border between Thuringia and Saxony is passed before reaching the end point of the line in Regis-Breitingen.
Our train consists of open and closed cars, so that nothing stands in the way of an unforgettable travel experience. The saloon car is also gladly used. In the saloon of the western town Haselbach there is the possibility to strengthen yourself with different food and drinks for the return journey.Besides the narrow-gauge railroad, a technical museum and the model railroad, the locomotive shed in Meuselwitz is also available for various events.
