The Meuselwitz cultural station is located between Zeitz and Altenburg. A ride on the historic coal train is a unique experience. It runs partly on the tracks of the former mine railroad, which used to transport the raw coal to the briquette factories. The museum located in the Kulturbahnhof contains many exhibits relating to regional lignite mining. Among other things, technical equipment, documents and historical trains as well as a model train exhibition in the administration building can be viewed.
The museum railroad is operated by the Kohlebahnen e.V. association.
