House of Culture Weißenfels
House of Culture Weißenfels
As a central venue in Weißenfels, the Kulturhaus attracts many enthusiastic visitors to its halls with its wide-ranging program of theater, musicals, cabaret and concerts. The house can refer to a tradition of over a hundred years. Today's Kulturhaus was first mentioned in 1872 and, with its use as a theater and vaudeville theater, has been a cultural focal point for the citizens of Weißenfels since 1898. A fire that destroyed the stage house in 1987 almost brought the theater to a standstill. But after the reconstruction of the hall, the until then limited play operation could be resumed in 1998. The Kulturhaus der Stadt Weißenfels has been operated and managed by the city of Weißenfels since January 1, 2019. Previously, the sports and leisure company held this task. The transfer is not just a mere administrative act. The audience will experience significant changes. A breath of fresh air will be provided by aggressive program planning and top-class shows. Established event formats such as the Weißenfelser Theatertage will be retained. The organization, implementation and conceptual direction of all events in the Kulturhaus of the city of Weißenfels will be bundled in the municipal cultural office. The Great Hall can seat up to 1,000 guests, and even more with the inclusion of the Winter Garden. The Club Hall is perfect for smaller events. Conference rooms expand the space available. The Weinheimisch theater restaurant provides the right culinary treat for every event, whether in the form of a festive dinner or an exclusive catering service.
