LOTTO Thüringen SCHANZENANLAGE in Kanzlersgrund
LOTTO Thüringen SCHANZENANLAGE in Kanzlersgrund
The LOTTO Thüringen SCHANZENANLAGE in Kanzlersgrund consists of the large hill "Hans Renner" (HS 140) and the normal hill "Rennsteig" (HS 100). The large hill - once the largest hill in the former GDR - was built from 1959 to 1961. The first use of the jumping mats took place in 1979 and from then on enabled not only winter but also summer operation. From 1984 to 1987 the construction of the normal hill was carried out. The former 90-meter facility replaced the aging "Thüringenschanze" (wooden construction) on the Wadeberg. In spring 2013, the reconstruction of the facility began. The normal hill was demolished and completely rebuilt. In addition, the outlets of both ski jumps were connected to form an uphill slope. In September 2018, the completion of the new judges' tower took place, which was adapted to the design of the normal hill.
