A special feature of Pößneck is the sloping market square with a gradient of up to 16 percent. The center of the market square is adorned by the Markbrunnen, built in 1521 in Renaissance style. At that time, the water was supplied by the oldest wooden water pipe built by the Carmelite monks. The little man in the center of the fountain is the symbol of the strong citizen.
