Nestled in the beautiful landscape of the Schwarza Valley, the village meanders through the valley with a total length of 7 km. Mellenbach consists of 5 districts: Blumenau, Mellenbach, Glasbach and Obstfelderschmiede with the valley station of the Oberweißbacher mountain railroad. Outside the village there is a diabase quarry which is geologically very valuable. It also offers a magnificent view over the Mellenbach valley.
