Friedrich Fröbel Memorial Museum (with tourist information and Olitätenstübchen)
Visitors climb up creaky wooden stairs into the 400-year-old former vicarage to the museum, which is dedicated to the great pre-school teacher and founder of kindergartens. In a Exhibition presents the life and work of the town's greatest son and world-renowned preschool teacher. The museum is located in the house where Fröbel was born in Oberweißbach. In the museum, Fröbel's mother and cosplay songs can be heard as well as play gifts, and folding, weaving and threading techniques are on display. Younger visitors can let their imaginations run wild while playing with wooden building blocks or laying tablets.
The pretty half-timbered house also houses the Olitätenstübchen. Here, the old tradition of trading in olives is revived. The scent of dried herbs fills the house and the Olitätenstübchen provides information about the use and secrets of local herbs and remedies.
The first floor houses the Tourist Information and a Store with a wide range of Froebelian toys and activities, wooden toys, anchor stone building kits, natural remedies and traditional olive oil.
