Mendhausen is a classic Franconian clustered village, idyllically situated on the Green Belt. The Mönchshof, which was important for the historical development, belongs to the Mendhausen district. The Mönchshof was first mentioned in a document in 783 and Charlemagne was a frequent guest here. Today, the handsome, beautifully restored village is a residential village with a lively community life.
