The municipality of Mittelsömmern - situated between Haussömmern and Hornsömmern - is located in the immediate vicinity of the "Großes Hornholz" nature reserve. The long main street with its pretty houses and lovingly tended flowerbeds leads directly to the "Edelhof" at the end of the village. The "Edelhof", a listed half-timbered building from the 13th century, has been extensively reconstructed and renovated in recent years. It is now the cultural center of the village and is used by local clubs for their events.

The Edelhof with its various rooms is also available for private celebrations. On the annual "Open Monument Day" in September, you can visit the Edelhof and marvel at the colorful hustle and bustle in front of the historic building. 

The community's own kindergarten with the special concept of a forest kindergarten brings lots of children's laughter.
