The 658-metre-high Mottener Haube is located near Bad Brückenau. The Bavarian-Hessian border runs across its summit. The Mottener Haube is one of the foothills of the Dammerfeld massif.

On the most prominent mountain of the western Rhön, a wooden lookout tower was built in 1980, which was renewed by a steel construction in 2006. Along the boundary line there is a row of coat of arms stones. The prince abbot Adolf von Dalberg had them erected around 1729. The background was border disputes with the Counts of Hanau.

The tower offers a beautiful view of the Dammersfeld massif as far as the Hessian Rhön and is a popular excursion destination. A steep hiking trail leads from Motten to Haube, and the mountain can also be climbed from Heubach and Speicherz.
