As 12 mills had to make way for the construction of the two large dams on the Weida, a monument was erected to them in Stelzendorf.

This monument was erected on the initiative of Stelzendorf citizens under the direction of Gerhard Oertel between 1981 and 1983. It commemorates the Stelzen and Sorbitz mills located not far from the village. A millstone from each mill can be seen. Two display boards provide visitors with information about the history of the monument and the mills, and benches in front of it and on the pond dam opposite invite visitors to linger.
