The event site was created from a quarry that has been disused since the 1960s. 3,000 tons of various materials were removed. The rock underfoot (continuous rock slab) as well as the two Natural stages in the form of massive stone benches are all made of shell limestone. This is mainly 243 million years on the seabed that once existed here, hence the name "Muschelgrund".
