Museum at Creuzburg Castle
The focus of the exhibitions in the museum at Creuzburg Castle is the Ludovingian landgrave's castle and its most famous representative, the landgravine Elisabeth of Thuringia and later saint. Exhibitions on the history of the castle and town, the justice system in the former Creuzburg district and an exhibition on the life and work of the music scholar and composer Michael Praetorius (1572-1621), who was born in Creuzburg, can be visited. A local history room with evidence of everyday culture from the 19th and 20th centuries and the temporary exhibitions with cultural history exhibitions or art exhibitions round off the museum's offerings. The museum also houses the tourist information office for the town of Creuzburg/OT Creuzburg.
