In the 800-year-old Posterstein Castle, you can discover the history of the region in the border triangle of Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. The exhibitions tell the story of regional history and European salon history. Here you will meet personalities such as the Duchess of Courland, the minister Hans Wilhelm von Thümmel, the publisher Friedrich Arnold Brockhaus, the writer Hans Fallada and the peasant painter Friedrich Mascher. The family exhibition "The Children's Castle" accompanies young visitors interactively through the castle - from the dungeon to the tower.
