Museum Neues Weimar - Paths to the Bauhaus
Museum Neues Weimar - Paths to the Bauhaus
The former Grand Ducal Museum was built in 1869 as one of the first German museum buildings. Since April 6, 2019, the Museum Neues Weimar has been part of the „Quartier Weimarer Moderne“ around the Bauhaus Museum Weimar. The exhibition „Van de Velde, Nietzsche and Modernism around 1900“ presents outstanding international works of Realism, Impressionism and Art Nouveau. They reflect an equally glamorous and contradictory era with many references to our present day. Based on the themes of the exhibition, a large museum workshop invites visitors to take part in fixed and open workshops.
