Picturesquely nestled in the landscape on the Upper Saale, Burgk Castle is not only home to historic living rooms and showrooms along with precious interiors, but is also a cultural center of Eastern Thuringia with its special collections, exhibitions, concerts and festivals. Late medieval fortifications enclose a building which - from Gothic to Rococo - contains numerous treasures: Knights' Hall, kitchen with Germany's largest cone fireplace, hunting room, castle chapel with Silbermann organ, dining room, White Room and state bedroom. The Sophienpark with its sound house provides an ideal setting for concerts.

The museum is closed on December 24, 25 and 31.
