Museum Club "Aunt Irma Museum
The Tante Irma Museum Hummelshain (also called TIM for short) has its domicile in the so-called Old Manor in Kahlaer Straße 21. The old residential building has been renovated by the municipality in 2019 with the help of subsidies on the outside: Renewal of the framework, new facade, New windows and doors.
At the same time, the shooting club has designed new rooms for itself and also renovated the toilet so that museum visitors and members of the museum club can use a separate toilet.
In the TIM you can expect in more than 25 museum departments on more than 350 square meters beautiful old, sometimes known and often unknown material witnesses to the theme "150 years of life, work and living in Thuringia", a total of more than 7000 exhibits, some of which go back more than 200 years. The collection goal ends around the so-called "Wende", i.e. the time of the German reunification.
The courtyard of the Old Manor offers special events on special occasions such as the traditional Hummelshain Festival of the Forest and Hunting. A particularly beautiful part of the Old Manor is the former horse stable, which, with the support of many community members, the municipality and the district, was transformed into a beautiful community room by the Museum Club in over 400 hours of work.
