The Bertholdsburg Castle Natural History Museum was established in 1984 (since 1994 under the sponsorship of the district of Hildburghausen). Today, the Natural History Museum has three permanent exhibitions on Thuringian natural history, geology and regional and town history, which invite visitors with vivid exhibits and interesting installations.
