The exact age of the mill is not known. It probably already existed in the 13th century. The Naupold family owned the mill for a long time - hence the name Naupoldsmühle. Around 1900, it was established as a restaurant for excursions. From the 1960s, a children's holiday camp and company holiday home were run in the Naupoldsmühle. In 1993, the ownership changed to a private entrepreneur who converted the Naupoldsmühle into a guesthouse with a restaurant.
