Nazza
Nazza
The municipality of Nazza is situated in a narrow, idyllic valley crossed by the Lämpertsbach stream, surrounded by the forests of the Hainich, directly on the main connecting road between Eisenach and Mulhouse. The documentary evidence of one of the oldest settlements in the region dates back to 1015. Nazza was the seat of a noble family of the same name, which is mentioned from 1253 to the 16th century. Later, the lords of Hopffgarten were based here. Worth seeing are the Christ Church, newly built around 1550, the numerous listed half-timbered houses in the very well-kept village center as well as the castle ruin "Haineck" from 1392, high above the village. The charming landscape can be experienced on numerous, well-developed hiking and biking trails.
