The Öbsterstübchen and the Kleinbahnmuseum are always a worthwhile destination for hikers, cyclists, neighbors and visitors who love to travel. In the former express shed you will find a piece of local history: the narrow-gauge railroad once ran from Langensalza via Kirchheilingen to Haussömmern. The line was 27.5 km long in total. The entire line was closed on 01.12.1969. Where the narrow-gauge railroad once commuted back and forth on the former railroad line, there is now a cycle and hiking trail, the K2 - Kneipp and narrow-gauge railway cycle path. If you walk or cycle along this idyllic path, you will find many opportunities to experience and enjoy the culture and natural landscape. Follow the cycle and hiking trail, and at the former railroad station in Kirchheilingen you will find our small railway museum and Öbsterstübchen.
