The An der Burg park covers an area of 10,600 m² at the gates of the medieval town center. It was once under water, as one of several fish ponds was located between the moat and the town wall until the early 19th century. These were initially filled in and later turned into meadows and green spaces.

The oldest ginkgo tree in the city can be found here, with a height of 23 meters and a trunk circumference of over 3.60 meters. In the heart of the park there was once a war memorial for the 1870/71 war. Today, the city plants the most beautiful seasonal flowers and perennials there every year.
