Paska
Paska
Paska is a municipality in the Saale-Orla district of Thuringia, which belongs to the Ranis-Ziegenrück administrative community. The village is located in the immediate vicinity of the Hohenwarte reservoir. The village of Paska was probably founded in the 13th century. The village was first mentioned in a document in 1378[2] and was known as Passeck in the 16th and 17th centuries. Archaeological excavations proved the settlement of Celts in the area around the village through grave finds. The village belonged to the Electoral Saxon district of Ziegenrück until 1815 and, following its cession to the Prussian district of Ziegenrück at the Congress of Vienna, the village belonged to this district until 1945.
Paska is a village on the outskirts. The typical old farmsteads with their three- and four-sided courtyards are mostly half-timbered buildings. The village lies on the edge of the Sormitzgrund nature reserve.
