Fish also once swam in the idyllic Petriteich pond, feeding Mühlhausen's urban population. Following on from this, a children's playground was created in the middle of the green spaces in 2020, with oversized fish reminiscent of fantasy worlds above and below the water.

Together with the neighboring Pfortenteich pond, the Petriteich pond embeds its visitors in 12,000 m² of greenery. As an extension of the An der Burg park, together they offer almost 23,000 m² of recreational space. Simply stroll along the well-preserved city wall and discover the city from a completely different perspective.
