The village of Pferdsdorf, situated on the left bank of the Werra, was documented in the 13th/14th century.

The history of the small village has been eventful; constantly changing ownership structures, new lords for whom the village had to pay tribute and taxes have shaped the development of Pferdsdorf over the past centuries.
