Pörmitz is a municipality in the Saale-Orla district of Thuringia, around 3 km north of the district town of Schleiz. It belongs to the administrative community of Seenplatte.

Pörmitz was first mentioned in a document in 1310.

The old church was demolished in 1832. The new neoclassical church was consecrated in 1833.
