Pößnecker market fountain
Pößnecker market fountain
A special feature of Pößneck is the sloping market square with a gradient of up to 16 percent. The market fountain, built in 1521 in the Renaissance style, adorns the center of the market square. At that time, the water was supplied by the oldest wooden water pipe built by the Carmelite monks. The "Marktbornmännchen" in the middle of the fountain is considered a symbol of the defensive citizen.
