The Poppenberg Tower near the municipality of Harztor OT Ilfeld was built on the Poppenberg in 1897. The tower is a 33.5 m high steel lattice construction.

With good visibility, you have a fantastic panoramic view over the southern Harz region as far as the Thuringian Forest and Kassel.

The Poppenberg Tower is also home to stamp point 92 of the Harz Hiking Needle.
