The Gehlberg Post Office Museum not only depicts the development of the local post office, but also commemorates many events and milestones in over 500 years of German postal history.

Compared to other postal museums, this one is characterized by its comprehensive presentation of GDR postal history: Foundation of the German Post of the GDR, central courier service of the GDR, postal newspaper distribution, postal war, postal control ....

One is surprised by the abundance of exhibits that can be found in the original counter room, counter hall and postillion room, such as stamp machines, post horn, telephone box, postal newspaper wrappers, postal rental packaging, lottery boxes and much more.
