A small red sandstone formation, the Rabenschüssel, lies on the western slope of the Eichberg directly above the Saale between Maua and Sulza.
The name is derived from a birdbath-like bowl-shaped washout at the highest point with a wonderful view of the Saale valley.

The middle red sandstone here belongs geologically to the lower Triassic. It is a fine-grained, solid rock with a predominantly brown-red coloration.
