Stop at St. John in Frömmstedt !

The first cyclists„ church in Germany was inaugurated on July 27, 2003 in the small Saxon community of Weßnig. Following this example, the Protestant parish of Frömmstedt inaugurated the first cyclists“ church in the district of Sömmerda on 19.08.2006 as part of the 2nd "Tour de Frömmschdt".

To the church

St. John's Church and the southern surroundings with the former mourning hall are connected to the Wipper-Unstrut cycle path no. 3 as a „cyclists“ church".

The church is located directly on cycle path no. 3 (LIIO 89 Kirchgasse). The cycle path is becoming increasingly popular, not least due to the „Tour de Frömmschdt“, which was held for the first time in 2005, making it a new tourist attraction in the „Südliche Hainleite“ and „Region Nord Kreis Sömmerda“ regions. To make this even better known, a „stop on the spot“, a „place to linger“, was created with the cyclists' church.
