Surrounded by rustling forests lies the gold mining settlement of Reichmannsdorf. Centuries ago, this place was surrounded by the magic of gold wealth. Even today, it is possible to go on a treasure hunt and pan for gold in the Schlagebach stream. Medieval digging and mining sites for this precious metal can be visited on the educational trail on the Goldberg. At an altitude of 700 meters, you can enjoy unforgettable panoramic views far into Thuringia and Franconia as far as the Fichtelgebirge mountains on miles of well-signposted hiking trails, some of which are suitable for the disabled. Reichmannsdorf is located on the Porcelain Route and can look back on a long tradition of porcelain production. Worth seeing is the 400-year-old "Aquila Church", whose church tower greets you from afar. A special experience is a visit to the Rotschnabelnest adventure museum with 100 craftsmen's rooms, the largest treasure chest in Germany and the gold and local history room. If the weather is bad, you can also pan for gold in the tub. In winter, there are well-groomed ski trails and ideal toboggan runs.
