In the middle of the Thuringian Forest, above the rooftops of the Goethe, university and sports town of Ilmenau, the Oberpörlitz riding stables offer horse lovers active recreation and relaxation on horseback all year round.

The guesthouse is an ideal starting point for a variety of leisure activities such as hiking, swimming, cycling, bowling, summer tobogganing and, of course, horse riding.

In winter, there are cross-country ski trails, ski lifts, natural toboggan runs and an ice rink in the area, as well as the winter sports resort of Oberhof with a ski tunnel that can be used all year round.
