The Old Manor, a 300-year-old former ducal farmstead, houses over 4000 exhibits on the subject of "100 years of life, work and living in Thuringia". They are mainly from Hummelshain and the surrounding area and illustrate the state and regional history on the topics of village development, the history of the Ernestine castles in Hummelshain, forestry and hunting, agriculture, crafts, bakers, butchers, shoemakers, hairdressers, house and garden, school, play and kindergarten, youth work yard and much more.
The museum tour in the TIM can be combined with a guided tour of the Residenzdorf for groups on request.
For schools, kindergartens and senior citizens' facilities, there are themed and project offers by arrangement, e.g. "Washing and ironing in grandma's time", "How a shoe is made", "What was this tool used for?" or "School is so old!".
