Restaurant "Zum Güldenen Zopf"
Restaurant "Zum Güldenen Zopf"
The restaurant "Zum güldenen Zopf" is located in a centuries-old historic half-timbered house in the heart of Blankenhain. Here you can sit back, linger and enjoy culinary treasures from the region. These walls breathe history!
The building was erected in 1541 as a coaching inn and horse station. Today's restaurant surprises with an elegant mix of historical elements and modern accessories. The restaurant's basic culinary idea is to celebrate Thuringian cuisine in its own unique way. And it is all about giving space to seasonal products in particular.
The chef responds spontaneously to the gifts of nature, which are brought directly to the house by local foragers. These include aromatic wild garlic, which is made into a delicious soup or pesto, porcini mushrooms from the surrounding forests or mirabelle plums, freshly picked from the tree. Our own creations such as marinated wild boar ham, Müllerin trout and baked cinnamon dumplings are extremely popular with guests.
