Rhönrad Schönau a. d. Brend

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Rhön wheel, the municipality erected a memorial below the Kirchberg at the village fountain. A Rhön wheel was anchored on a pile of basalt stones symbolizing the Rhön, with the water of a fountain splashing playfully through the wheel over the basalt stones. A simple commemorative inscription refers to the inventor, Mr. Otto Feick (1890-1959). The wheel made of chrome-nickel steel was donated by a grateful spa guest, Mr. Siegfried Dissmann from Langefeld in the Rhineland.
