Rhumspringe is a municipality in Lower Saxony. In 2000, the town celebrated its first documented mention 750 years ago. Around 1400, the village became part of the Electorate of Mainz, experienced the Reformation and became Prussian property in 1802. In 1815, the Rhumeort had 520 inhabitants as a village of the Kingdom of Hanover, before it returned to Prussia in 1866 and around 80 years later became part of today's Lower Saxon part of the Eichsfeld region near the border with Thuringia. Today, Rhumspringe is a member municipality of the joint municipality of Gieboldehausen in the district of Göttingen.

The municipality on the southern edge of the Harz mountains in northern Germany offers a wealth of tourist and leisure opportunities at any time of year. Located in the middle of Germany, it is the ideal starting point for excursions in the surrounding area.
