Rückersdorf
Rückersdorf
The village (190 m above sea level, 143 inhabitants), located to the south-east of Uhlstädt, to the right of the Saale in front of the heath, was first documented in 1457 and was incorporated into Uhlstädt in 1922 together with Ober- and Kleinkrossen. In addition to agriculture and forestry, the inhabitants also used to raft.
At the end of the village, towards the heath, is the beautiful forest pool with a nudist sunbathing lawn. The pool is run by the Verein zur Erhaltung des Freibades Rückersdorf e.V. (Association for the Preservation of the Rückersdorf Outdoor Pool).
Several hiking trails begin and end in Rückersdorf, leading through the "Uhlstädter Heide" nature reserve to Friedebach, Birkigt, Oberwellenborn and Weißbach, among others. We particularly recommend a hike along the Saale to Zeutsch and Niederkrossen or via the "Saalleitenhütte" to the "Saalleiten" nature trail, which leads past the Töpfersdorf ruins, among other places.
