The Ruppberg is a popular destination for hikers from near and far. It measures 866 meters above sea level and with good visibility you have a beautiful panoramic view over Suhl to Coburg, to the Wasserkuppe and to the Rhön. Already the Celts built a rampart on the Ruppberg, later even a castle is said to have stood here.
