The Orthodox parish was founded in 1981 by Greek guest workers. Today it is under the control of the Moscow Patriarchate and unites Believers from eleven nations. The building of the St. Procopius Church originally belonged to the Stern brewery inn and even housed a discotheque for a time. Underneath the church is the Chapel of St. Nicholas. The Library of the Russian Orthodox church - somewhat hidden to the left of the church entrance - is also used as a concert hall on the first Monday of every month at 7 pm.
