Sangerhausen OT Wippra
Wippra is a district of the town of Sangerhausen and is surrounded by the dense forests of the southern Harz. The eponymous river Wipper flows through the village. Just outside the village, deep in the Wippertal valley, lies the Wippra reservoir. It is not only the circular trail around the dam that invites you to go hiking. Shady paths lead into the deep deciduous and coniferous forests of the surrounding area. Wippra attracts fans of naturist culture with the first official naturist trail in Germany, which begins near the Wippra dam and leads through an idyllic forest and sunny meadows for around 14 km. The European hiking trail E 11 "Netherlands-Harz-Masuria" also runs through Wippra. Cyclists can set off from here on the Harz circular cycle route and the Harz-Saale long-distance cycle route. The Wipperia Funpark with climbing forest and summer toboggan run and the Wippertalbad swimming pool are popular destinations for families. Incidentally, beer has been brewed in Wippra since 1480. The museum and traditional brewery keeps this more than 500-year-old brewing tradition alive with its beer specialties.
