Harra landing stage

Harra was first mentioned in documents in 1232 with the manor of Albert von Harra. This is where the village originated. The chronicle of the former administrative community of Saale-Rennsteig mentions the possibility that Harra began as a Sorbian village. However, there is no evidence of this. During the construction of the Bleiloch dam and the damming of the Saale, parts of the village were demolished. Otherwise they would have fallen victim to the dammed-up water of the Saale.
Today, Harra is an anchorage on the Thuringian Sea and, if the water level is high enough, you can use the landing stage here to board the "MS Thüringer Meer" or Germany's first cabin boat, the "MS Bad Lobenstein", which can even sleep up to 10 people. Cyclists and hikers also like to use this landing stage to take a break and explore and experience the narrow and picturesque reservoir in a different way.
