Aschach Castle Bad Bocklet
Aschach Castle Bad Bocklet
Aschach Castle is located in the middle of the Franconian Saale Valley on the outskirts of the small village of Aschach. Approx. 7 km north of Bad Kissingen, the castle is easily accessible by hiking along the Saale river. The castle was originally built in the 12th century as a medieval fortress, but was destroyed several times over the following centuries. Today, the castle complex is home to a folklore museum and a school museum, which provide an insight into the everyday lives of people over 100 years ago. In the Graf-Luxburg-Museum, things get aristocratic as you wander through the original living quarters of the last inhabitants of the castle. The extensive castle grounds with restaurant and café round off a day trip to Aschach Castle.
